Re: Sony 16-80mm - how much slop, twitch, clunk?
I finally got my 16-80mm and it seems to be fine. No slops, twitches or clunks. Got it from Warehouse Express and they did their Price Beat Guarantee to bring the price down to £453.99 with free delivery.

Re: A900 AF micro adjust
David (K),
Do you think there might be a problem with micro adjust and Sigma lenses? Sony don't guarantee it for 3rd party lenses and Sigmas have often been the odd ones out in the past.

Dynax to Alpha
There's a good Minolta history feature over 6 pages on the Sony UK site:
http://www.sony.co.uk/hub/chronicle/block/1
Didn't know about this until I saw it mentioned on Dyxum.

Thanks for that David. Hopefully QC is a bit better these days.

David's tests?
As I've decided not to go full frame in the near future I'm finally going to buy a 16-80mm. I seem to remember David posting something when he first got his about how to test for a good copy. David - please can you say it again?
Thanks,
Andy

Re: Silver lens, yes or no?
The manual states that both converters are MF only. The 1.4x will be at F8 at the long end and so shouldn't AF?David Kilpatrick wrote:The 70-400mm SSM is definitely compatible with the converters but only the 1.4X offers AF.

Thanks David. It is certainly well hidden ... :) I did poke around for a few minutes before I gave up! If your list grows you might want to look at one of the server based programs that automate the list and make it easy to send to all. I've used this one: http://www.siteinteractive.com/subscribe/ ,...

Re: ENGINEERING [450k, 9pics]
Really good shots Ian, but you say they were taken at "The Great Central (Steam) Railway engine sheds at Peterborough". Not sure you mean Peterborough as the Great Central doesn't go there?
