Re: lens gear stripped
Hi Hawk... I don't think the A200 has that Normal/Fast Speed option of the a700. I have the a200 which is quite fast so did not take a chance!

Re: lens gear stripped
Hi Mike & Welcome... Sorry to hear you were not aware of the gear stripping due to the fast speed. I was fortunate enough to have read about it by David K, then sold my 70-300 APO which I really liked. David did mention you could set the A700 to normal AF rather than use fast AF speed. Not sure ...

Re: LCD Protect Cover for A700
I bought one for an iTouch, cut it to size for my A200
I am pretty sure this will not drop off any time soon!
If it did I have enough to cut another.

Re: minolta 70-210 beercan lens
As good as the 70-210/4 is I think the Doc's advice is good. I had the Sigma 70-300 APO for my KM 5-D which I really liked, sold it after reading reports of gear stripping on the A200 I now have. So it's the the 70-300 G SSM for me when I get the spare cash, very good value for the dollar from what ...

Welcome Debra.. I'd read your (how to shoot interiors) post and tried it, I too was amazed with the results. I'm not a realtor but take a few interior shots. Davids advice is on going for me. Good luck with the going out on your own venture! Just loved those peaches, pecans & people when I was d...

Hello from the west coast of Canada
I have the KM-5D, recently bought the A200. A good price & having read, Sony Alpha 200 - guided tour and overview by David helped me make the decision. Really like the camera and the photos it produces, very user friendly. This is certainly the place to be for any Alpha owner, lots of good info ...
