Re: A77, Lightroom and Win XP
Be very careful when buying second hand copies of Adobe software - e.g. see: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/854077 regards - Peter This is quite tricky, I don't think the company in question is going to tell you that the user has deactivated it. And with Adobe you have two activations and you need ...

From an aircraft, of an aircraft, in the air, on the ground, how far away, how fast, what lens?

Re: Jessops to go into administration?
The announcement on their website today looks pretty final. I liked the Edinburgh Shandwick Place Jessops although more so in the early years, I remember going to get the huge super-small-print pricelist quite often. It this carries on I will have to use the airport Dixons stores to look at new prod...

Presumably converted from RAW? If so then does a different raw converter or higher quality jpeg

External Flash for G15
I'm hoping that the experienced people on this forum might be able to offer some advice. I finally decided to replace my Canon G9 travel camera, and despite some temptation from the new Sony DCX-RX100 I have gone for the Canon PowerShot G15. There are various reasons but I think for me it has the ri...

Re: Add 2nd hd to laptop?
There is a danger that you will affect your Windows install by installing Linux on the second disk (unless you are careful you can replace the boot loader by mistake or even install on the wrong drive). VirtualBox is an ideal way to play with Linux, you easily have enough RAM. You can even get pre-m...

Re: Projection
So we are now years on from this discussion.
What could I buy today that would compete with my 20 year old Kodak Carousel projector that is
perfectly good at delivering bright horizontal and vertical images on a square screen.

Dirty Digital Photos
I would appreciate it if someone could look at the images below and tell me what you think the marks are. These are crops from wedding photographs that my daughter purchased from a Professional photographer. I have produced crops of a few images (not wishing to publish the full photos or the photogr...

Re: 32 bit Applications in 64bit OS
I'm guessing that the magic patchers are just setting IMAGE_FILE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE in the header which is something that the microsoft developer tools can do. Would it not be better for the author of the denoiser to provide a version linked to use large addresses if that is supported for the 32-bi...
