Re: Phunny times at Photoclubalpha
Why not just use New Posts? That's where my tab aims for opening the Forums. David At the moment I am swapping between VNP and searches. View New Posts depends on cookies so if you clear the cookies periodically then the list is empty. I cleared my cookies this morning. The only way to find this th...

Re: Phunny times at Photoclubalpha
Not sure if this is relevant but it seems there are two places for a setting: Category and Forum. See these posts, particularly the first two entries.

Re: Phunny times at Photoclubalpha
Thanks Harvey. It turns out that only two forums had this set (not that I ever set it!) - I have now enabled it for all forums, so Active Topics should return. I think... David Not fixed yet. What version change was made to phpBB? I can do some web searches to see if I can come up with other sugges...

Please check if this is relevant.David Kilpatrick wrote:I've just tried copying the permission from the Photo Discussion forum to all forums, in case permissions affect the Active Topic search access in some way. Still not easy to understand why this is happening.

Re: Study of the Effectiveness of Shake Reduction
By the way, any chance View active topics is going to start working again? It stopped working a week or two ago. It is so much trouble to see the latest posts I have pretty much stopped checking this forum anymore. :( I have the same problem. Ever since I registered with the forum I have used a boo...

Re: IDC 3.2 direct Link
I'd skip IDC as a freebie it's still not really even passable has limited functionality and delivers mediocre results. Time to scrap this one and start from scratch, either that or simply get a deal going with a real software developer and bundle that with your cameras. I downloaded the Sony softwa...

Re: An odd A700 problem (?)
Do you see a normal image through the viewfinder? I was going to suggest that if you have an extra camera you post images looking into the camera with no lens attached. One with the normal mirror position and one with the mirror locked up? But maybe any sensor offset would be too hard to spot so I w...

Re: Changing 72 DPI to 300 DPI?
Does the program refuse to load the file at all? If so it is completely broken. What OS and image editing software are you using? You might be able to use actions or batch operations to automate conversion of a set of files at once. I tried photoshop and Irfanview but they both seem to want to rewri...

Filter Systems
I'm thinking of using ND grad filters so that means purchasing a holder and filters. Does anyone have advice on the best systems (I'm most likely to be using the Minolta 17-35mm f/2.8) or 50mm f/1.7 on A900.) Quick web search comes up with Lee (expensive) and Cokin-Z (various people say the Cokin ND...

There are some one-shot panorama adaptors. I know nothing about them but see this UK page for example.pakodominguez wrote: Any thoughts?

Re: PMA round up
I'm pretty sure from his confidence in what is being included that it will not suffer from a rolling shutter effect, that it will produce a quality equal to or higher than Nikon Motion-JPEG but with Canon data storage effiiency and ability to film extended takes. JPEG still capture without video in...

I like the landscapes especially.
Where is the spider sculpture? I'm guessing the Bay Bridge, San Francisco maybe. I took a picture once of two statues there but never found out what the sculptures were.
