Re: Which Alpha-mount fulltime frame camera

So we see with the change of thread title that the question is/was NOTHING to do with Mountain biking, and a topic which has been WELL covered else where.

Frank Is your problem that the gears are stripped??

Model Railway people often have tiny milling machines or lathes to turn up new driving wheels etc.

So you are going to mount it on a mountain bike, or carry it in your hand while mountain biking... or??

Re: A77/A65 Samples

Suggestion:
Why can't they machine a slot into all the bodies so a "Kensington" type of lock as used on laptops etc can protect the camera from walk offs in studios and outdoor/hotel room etc settings. This would cost little in the manufacturing process.

Re: Second chance to the Minolta 500mm Reflex on A900

And I'm agree with the Minolta 16mm 2.8 :-) ... This lens has to stay in the bag or some place available when it is time to really use it. I like mine, especially to take cloud pictures. :D But, I was wondering if anybody has this user manual in hand an can check if they telling something about thi...

Re: Lenses - Minolta Film Camera - for re-use in Digital Camera

All three lenses will work well. Even the latest 500mm f/8 only has five contacts as far as I know - I have a new Sony 500mm which I use on my 5D. It only has five contacts. The 500mm mirror is a difficult lens to use, but worth more than all the rest put together, and becomes even more effective w...

Sony's official repair centre for Sony DSLR in New Zealand is here:

http://phototronic.co.nz/ They provide an excellent service.

Compared with most of Asia, NZ prices for Sony are very high.

Brilliant Frank. I use my Minolta 16mm 2.8 mostly for clouds where a bit of curve isn't so noticed. For such a small lens it's surprisingly heavy. Do you use any of the built in filters?

Re: Kenko 36mm tube and KM100 Macro

Is using a 100mm Macro lens the wrong thing to do on an extension tube if you want larger than 1:1? Clearly I'm misunderstanding some points here. :-) Would a bellows system be better/useless?

Re: Kenko 36mm tube and KM100 Macro

01af said: Long focal lengths (i. e. longer than 50 - 60 mm) don't make sense at magnifications significantly beyond 1:1---and you are at approx. 3.5:1 which clearly is way beyond life size! Isn't that the real point of extension tube(s) used with Macro lens; to get beyond life size?? Other wise why...
