Re: What became of those pink flowers?

Green quinces of course! :) Hi, Just wished to share the final phase of those pink flowers as young quinces on their way to ripening. http://img76.imageshack.us/img76/7456/floweringquince3846850c.jpg http://img76.imageshack.us/img76/469/floweringquince3852850.jpg http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/6362/...

Re: birds

Does it show now? I copy/pasted the address of the image to the address bar and it started showing for me. Maybe you can do the same for it to show for you too? :D Yildiz http://photoignoto.smugmug.com/photos/531956003_7mhDH-L.jpg And I also uploaded it to Imageshack just in case. But if you open th...

Re: Deformed Photo Subject with Sony 18-200mm

Hi Greg, :) I try not to use any filters or polarizers though I have some that fit the threads of the Sony 18-200mm. I always want to see what the lens glass is capible of on its own. But I may try attaching one just to see what diffeence it can make. Still though, I don't think polarizers can fix a...

Re: Deformed Photo Subject with Sony 18-200mm

Hi, :) I can say that time of day doesn't make much of a differrence to the haze distortions for this building especially as this is the facade facing South which is the most affected by the Sun. The temperature at the moment is around 20 degrees Celcius and there's a slight wind. The white surface ...

Re: Beach Huts

They look nice, but what exactly does a beach hut do for you if you rent one? Greg No, really, what are they for? (see sidebar indicating my location) Hi, :) When I was a small kid we had a beach hut, not because we rented it but because the firm my father worked for owned a beach on a very remote ...

Re: Deformed Photo Subject with Sony 18-200mm

Hi everyone, :D Thanks for all the suggestions which I'll pursue with the Sony 18-200mm to see how it will react to other heat and light conditions. I suppose a lens like the 70-400 G would be even better to observe the rippling effects the heat and perhaps the wind turbulances around the high-rise ...

Re: Deformed Photo Subject with Sony 18-200mm

Hi, Harveyzone and Philip; :) I'll take your leads and say that the irrational-looking effects may after all be because of the bright sunlight bouncing off from everywhere. I waited for the clouds to cover the Sun and here's the latest result with the Sony 18-200mm: There still are visible artifacts...

Re: Deformed Photo Subject with Sony 18-200mm

I could be wrong, but it looks like heat haze (or some other atmospheric distortions) to me, and nothing to do with the lens. Thank you fro the input Harveyzone. :) I suspected the atmospheric conditions too since it is a very sunny day in Istanbul and light reflects in every direction but I've nev...

Re: Beach Huts

Thanks for starting such a lovely thread Paul. :D

Beach huts are always reinvented somehow. I like the grass-covered roofs of your beach huts; more environmentally and visually friendly.

Deformed Photo Subject with Sony 18-200mm

Hi everyone, :) I was baffled to see these deformed lines and contours when I took photos with a different sample of Sony 18-200mm only a few minutes ago. My Sony 18-200mm never showed such deformations, though I was agitated with its tendency to show excessive purple fringing. Can someone who has s...

Re: Challenge 7: “Right Around That Corner!”

Had there been the glimpse of an A700+ model showing around the corner of this line-up of cameras, I'm sure that photo would have been the officially-most-viewed-and-ultimately-the winner-of-hearts entry of this challenge David! ...no matter how excellent some of the actual entries are already :D :D...
