Re: Weather Today- in Your Vicinity
No problem David, I've just put it in a padded post bag for you and addressed it. Please take care when you open it to keep your eyes closed! Shot five frames at 0.7EV bracket with a CZ16-35mm f2.8 on the A900 at ISO200, f14, 17mm according to the EXIF then post using Exposure Fusion in Photomatix t...

Re: Weather Today- in Your Vicinity
Thank you everyone!
Here's another shot from last weekend to serve two purposes. The first in order to demonstrate that spring has sprung! and the second, and by far most important, in honour of the change in Avatar Yildiz

Re: Weather Today- in Your Vicinity
Getting a bit twitchy here - too busy to take more than about three photos all week so forgive me if I post one from sunrise on one of the days last weekend. The weather is shaping up here at last
All the more reason for the shutter finger to be getting twitchy.- Wed Sep 15, 2010 12:05 pm

Re: Weather Today- in Your Vicinity
Sorry Greg, no womens competition on that weekend. I suppose I could use the liquify filter in Photoshop and "make" some for you though that might be a little scary

Re: Weather Today- in Your Vicinity
This was the weekend and admittedly the skies are a bit bluer here today and for the next few days if you can put any store in the forecast at all. Tricky shooting conditions though because, as you can imagine, the light was changing about a zillion times a second (slight exaggeration maybe )

Re: Flowers 2010
Cheers Birma, They're Kenkos. In this case a 12mm stacked on a 20mm stacked on a 36mm. Since there is no glass in them, I'm guessing that one set is pretty much as good as any other. Feel free to correct me anyone but these work pretty well with the A900 and any lens I've used them. I must admit I'm...

Re: Flowers 2010
Thanks Greg, and you too Doc! With two CZ lenses in the bag, I can't see myself doing anything else from this point in (much to the disgust of my wife I think). The 16-35mm is going to take some figuring out though because it does some fairly disturbing things to straight lines at the edges of the i...

Re: Flowers 2010
Evening All, I added a CZ 16-35mm f2.8 to the bag this weekend so I took the opportunity to go for a short walk at lunch today with the following result Flame Tree.jpg By way of a comparison, here is another of the same type of flower (from a different tree) made with the trusty CZ 135 a week or so ...

Re: GPS?
I use the original Sony model produced a couple of years ago which I bought for no other reason than it had a LED on it and I suffer from that geek disease that forces me to buy any gadget that has a. power and b. flashing lights- maybe the same as yours David, and I have found it pretty good ad blo...

Re: Weather Today- in Your Vicinity
Thanks Birma, Aster, I may have been tempting fate on Saturday with my comment about the weather. This one was taken from pretty much the same spot as my last post but facing north west instead of north east and not more than 24 hours later. As you can see, there was no sunbathing here in Perth on t...

Re: Weather Today- in Your Vicinity
Thank you ladies and gents. Aster - I bloody hope it's once in a lifetime :-). Not used to clouds in the sky here, much less anything falling out of them! As evidence, this was Perth City a week or so ago. PerthSkyline Sunset.jpg Winston - I ordered some of the new metallic paper from Red River for ...

Re: Weather Today- in Your Vicinity
After what feels like an absence of years but is probably only a few weeks, this was taken this morning at Rockingham Beach, a ways north of where we live. As you can see, the blue skies have moved on...

Re: Part HDR Part Not
Thanks for the commments everyone. This is by far my most preferred way of doing HDR though, I have done a little bit of experimentation - which you can see on my blog (address in the signature) if you want and I'm finding there is a time and a place for the entire range of potential output. Sury, i...

Re: Part HDR Part Not
Thank you gentlemen! Greg, it was taken on my A900 with a Sigma 2.8, 28-105mm lens. Three exposures taken one after another using the camera's bracketing mode, all at 28mm, f8.0, ISO 200 on a tripod. I was lucky in that there was absolutely no wind so the surface of the water in the orignal images w...
