Re: a350 owners

I cannot improve or even reach David Kilpatrick's technical knowledge but I added an A350 to my A700 in the spring. I am very happy with it and my wife has now started to use it. She finds that it fits the size of her hands. She has just taken over 100 images in all sorts of weather and all the pict...

Re: Photokina with the A900

David The A900 looks like being a real winner. What about A900 IDC? I am frustrated by the fact that even v3 just released does not feature CR removal. What software did you find in the A900 box and have you tried it out? Is it simply IDC v.3 or an uprated product with additional features including ...

Re: A300 OR A350

I agree with Dr. Harout that the A900 will have its place in photography and there will be buyers including David Kilpatrick by his own admission. I will not be one of them though. I believe that it will be a good camera. Sony have not been rushing it out. They seem to take their time to get it righ...

Re: A300 OR A350

I have both the A700 and A350. I think that for landscape use the A350 would be better that the A300 because of the larger sensor and the widely acknowledged wide dynamic range. I rarely have found a problem with the A350 blowing out highlights. I think this is important for landscape. Also that 14 ...

Re: CZ 16-80 faukts been solved?

Thank you for your comments. Most informative. I am convinced now that I have a faulty copy of this lens and it is probably from one of the early batches as I believe this particular kit combination was withdrawn when the 16-105 saw the light of day. I will write to the MD of Sony UK as well as the ...

Re: Sony/CZ 16-80 Lens Problem at tele end.

Thanks David. I have sent a follow-up e-mail to Sony and I will return the lens for repair/replacement either direct to Sony or the retailer. I did suspect that I had the same problem as that described by you in earlier contributions. My son and myself took pictures yesterday of the same subject. He...

Sony/CZ 16-80 Lens Problem at tele end.

I have posted this under Lens Lore but maybe the Q&A section would be a better place. I have been wondering for a while if my CZ16080 S/N 3820096is faulty. It was purchased as a kit lens with my A700 back in January. I primarily use Wide Angle settings so only noticed in June that between 75 and...

Re: CZ 16-80 faukts been solved? Is this a fault?

I have been wondering for a while if my CZ16080 S/N 3820096is faulty. It was purchased as a kit lens with my A700 back in January. I primarily use Wide Angle settings so only noticed in June that between 75 and 80 mm there is a rough patch. At that point there is a resistance and roughness. and I ca...

Re: can anyone anticipate what the a750 will have?

I cannot anticipate what the successor to Sony's A700 would look like but I do know the specification that would make me trade in my A700 for an A750 with APS-C size sensor sporting a minimum of around 16.5 Mp and a better quality LV than that in the A350 and with a 3 Inch display. I have calculated...

Re: DRO and RAW underexposure

I have just joined and have found this thread most interesting. I kept wondering why my RAWs taken with my A700 were so much darker than those from my R1 latterly. They looked OK in Bridge initially, but when I then clicked on the image it went dark by at least a stop and the same in ACR needing som...

Re: Welcome to our Forums

My name is John Peter. I live in Scotland and used to enjoy David Kilpatrick's participation in the DPForum debates. Since he has left I have found the quality deteriorating and have decided to join this Forum, where the entries seem to be more to the point with less agitation. I am really an old &q...
