That's exactly the combination I have and its frickin' GREAT! Good score! The 24-70mm F2.8 is a great lens on the A900. Its sharper on the A700 because the edges are somewhat lost due to the crop factor but wow will you be pleased to have a return to wide angle! Here's two image created with the A90...

Dude it depends on the image. I've seen brightly lit city scenes for my a700 taken and have jpg imagesabout 3-4mb and others from the same shoot at the same manual settings have 2 mb images.

Kinda true cause ppl are megapixel crazy. Sony is stirring it. However whats wrong with a 16mp full frame alpha with wifi and a built in 8 gig SSD harddrive? nothing. i'm just saying dont abandon A700 users. The aps-c lens' should be supported with a top end sony dslr to mount them too.
