Re: Sony Alpha A99 Field Test Report
But it is having an impact on Canon and Nikon - FF users are switching to their systems from Sony to get an OVF. I don't think that's right. I think folks (like me) are just sitting on their A900's and A850s. For me, it's not the EVF that's causing me to sit tight, it's the fact that there's no rea...

Re: Polariser plus SLT - blotchy sky problem
My best guess is the blue patchiness in the image above is due to the focal length of the lens, and the angle of the sun in the sky. Given the shadows in the photo, the darkest patches are almost 90 deg from the sun, and that's where you'll see the strongest effect of a CPL in the sky.

Lonnie's "Not as good as Juanito's" eclipse shot...
Yeah, the windmill shot was top shelf. <thumbs up!>
Here was the one I was able to get off the back deck...
I was bummed about the clouds at the time, but in hindsight, they made the shot.

Re: ZOOM!
The shutter was trigger by remote inside the vehicle while I was driving. The trick is to go REALLY slowly. I would take about 5-10 shots at a time, and then chimp and re-compose. http://www.landshapephotography.com/img/s8/v9/p548069783.jpg When you are done, you get a bunch of shots that look like ...

Re: ZOOM!
In my rig I already attached the u arm and tripod/ballhead mount. It's simple enough to borrow the pipe bender at your home improvement store when you are there. Here's what that piece looks like (it was a nice U shape when I left the store, but a run-in with the pavement reworked it for me. Scared ...

Re: ZOOM!
So lot's of folks on other forums wanted to know how I pulled these shots off. I put about $100 into this MPC project, about about 10-20 hours work of work to get those two shots. Google is your friend and I found lots of setups for lots of money. Some rigs cost upwards of $1K. I knew that was kinda...

Here's an OOC JPG (dust spots and all) showing the rig before it's removed via cloning. http://www.landshapephotography.com/img/s3/v45/p296845985.jpg On the part you can't see, I have the center column to a mini-tripod (to decrease weight) and ball head u-bolted to a curved piece of pipe that's atta...
