Re: Challenge 4: Stir Crazy!
We have been stir crazy for other reasons...the heat! Set a few new records this summer with Temps above 45 C. Anyway saw this beam of light focus on our display cabinet, I thought it had an old museum feel to it. Camera settings were..1/8 sec @ f9, focal length-105mm, iso-1000, hand held- A700 /kit...

Re: Challenge 1: Wheels within Wheels
Great looking cars there Kevin. The first car would have to be red and white?? Imagine the original owners of the vehicles surprise, knowing that their cars could be photographed by a phone!

Re: Challenge 1: Wheels within Wheels
Happy New year to all. Had to think about this one, so hope this fits the specifications. The photo is of some old machinery found in a salt lake in South Australia-Yorke Peninsula. The machinery was used to dig or mine gypsum which was used to make plaster. Where there is gypsum, there's salt and a...

Re: A700 Latest Pics
The last shot is fantastic. Just I would've cropped it a bit leaving the flag out (with all respect, it's just that the colors are distracting from the overall shot. Again my respects to the flag and the country.) Thanks Dr Harout, I agree the coloured flag is out of place, Im in the process of rem...

Re: A700 Latest Pics
Thanks for looking springm.
I know I should shoot raw but I suppose I could be a bit lazy when it comes to processing them afterwards. I intend to take my photography more seriously in the new year and will definately being shooting in raw then.
Here's a couple more from my fav. camera so far.

Re: A700 Latest Pics
Thanks for the comments Dr. Harout. I did have ago with the peacock, fixing it a bit but the actual lighting was quite dark with a lot of greenery. I need to set my camera up with a few custom modes so I dont have to fiddle too much in the field. Once again any comment can make you think in a differ...

A700 Latest Pics
Haven't posted for a while but just wanted to continue my praise for the A700. A few shots from our trip to Malaysia and Borneo and from around the home. Hope to get a tripod soon to open up more photographic possibilities. regards

Re: Do you like heavily modified images?
Remember the perception of art can be quite individual, a lot like music guess, you either like it or not. Manipulated images has its place. I like the leaf images and the bikes with the water-colour style.

Re: Pedal Prix
We used to produce (not edit, just design and pre-press) a magazine called New Cyclist here at Icon Publications Ltd (photoclubalpha home). They would have loved your pix - but that was 18 years ago now! They featured stuff like recumbent bicycles and ultra high efficiency lightweight bikes for com...

Pedal Prix
Another oppotunity using the 70-300G lens while at the Pedal Prix. A big event where over 200 cyclist from schools, colleges etc. race around a 2.5 km circuit. The race goes for 24hrs so teams are quite exhausted by the end of it, not to mention the parents supporting their children.

I quite like the leaf shot it has a prehistoric feel to it and the japanese maple looks stunning with the green and contrasting reds.
