Unless I'm mistaken, the Sony IDC package writes changes back into the RAW file. If you do this, DxO cannot open them. Could this be the issue?

Your objections are well-known, but more and more you are sounding like anyone who disagrees with you cannot possibly be right, and now cannot even be an ethical person.

I did some 1600 ISO shots for an event for my daughter, and they were very good. DxO 6.1 helped a lot, it really does control the noise very well.

Both my lenses are supported lenses in DxO. If you have supported lenses, it's well worth trying!
