Re: Let's post some panoramas
Great pano Sury! I've been to San Francisco many times, but I have never made it down to that spot. I've seen it, and said, 'I've gotta go down there next time', but I always seem to forget. That view has reinforced the fact that I need to go again. Beautiful view Darin! Clouds would have been nice,...

Re: Landscape 2014
Great shot Hefay! The full moon makes it look like daytime, until you see the star trails..
I've brought my intervalometer almost every time I've been to Big Bend, but I've been thwarted by the clouds that often roll in around the evening each time.

Re: Learning to use the A77II
Great set.. 1 and 2 are my faves.. I've been tempted by the a77 II, but I will probably go FF with my next upgrade.. I can't wait to see more from you and the a77 II..

Re: Exhibit your B&W shots
Sury- I'll be happy to send you the color one.. The IR conversion that I had done on the camera has only the red channel of the sensor used. I'll send you a PM tonight..
Lonnie- still a nice shot, flat light not withstanding.. Sorry to hear about the hood.. That price is insane....

Re: Exhibit your B&W shots
Thanks Sury... I was happy that I was able to turn something that I have seen, at least 4 days a week for the last 8 years into something interesting. Trust me, in normal color photos, my hospital isn't that interesting...

Re: Landscape 2014
Thanks for the cool relief Andy!
I like the composition, and it may be a bit overcooked... But.. I've been guilty of over-using the clarity slider myself....

Re: Exhibit your B&W shots
Andy.. I've been playing around with all of the adjustments for B/W that LR has to offer, reprocessing some of my Big Bend photos to B/W. Silver Efex seem to let you alter the channels much less destructively than LR does.. (Having looked at the largest size of the photo on Flickr).

Re: Exhibit your B&W shots
Very tempting Andy. I can't wait to see more B/W landscapes processed with it.. I bought DXO FilmPack when it was on sale, but it is limited for B/W processing, and some of the color film versions are very 'Instagrammy'... The next photo purchase is probably going to be the Samyang 12mm f2.0 for the...

Re: Big Bend Sunrises
Thanks Henry... It was pretty warm, upper '80s and lower '90s.. We had one day of rain, and it was a bit cooler then, but a lot more humid.. Ugh..
It was a 40 mile drive... I should have made that clear...

Big Bend Sunrises
The kids and I arrived at Big Bend late in the afternoon, after the stores there closed, and we were low on ice.. I set out early in the morning to the store that opened first, some 40 miles from our campground to get ice for our food... It was very hazy, and the light beckoned me, so I brought my c...
