Re: A700 both wheels gone crazy

Actually I tried everything, rocket blower, vacuum cleaner with nozzle, then a big full size vacuum cleaner, nothing worked... Initially front wheel used to jump 3-4 steps now whichever way I scroll it just shifts back and forth by one unit .. like shifts +.3 , then 0 then again +.3 like that. Now r...

A700 both wheels gone crazy

This is serious problem indeed. First the front wheel started acting on its own and now its completely non-functional. I swapped functions between front and rear wheel but recently rear wheel started to show the same problem. I am back in India and here I don't have any service center including Sony...

DXO and Ilford XP2 (C&C)

Well, I tried to create something out of someone's creation :) I liked this particular post processing and light. Color rendering (BW) is from Ilford XP2 film and film grain added of Kodak T-Max 3200 ISO (to maximize grain). Original pic was not so good and you know I am a big fan of BW, so started ...

Re: Proud dad of a baby girl

Baby spent 3 full days at home and seems doing well .. at least feeding and sleeping well. We'll have another round of check ups this Friday. I managed to take some pics .. at last :) . Hope you like them. It seems that I need to have a lot of patience and of course luck to capture a smiling face :)...

Re: Proud dad of a baby girl

Ayan, When we had Elizabeth 5 years ago, she had jaundice and they sent us home with a photo-bed setup. (I can't remember if it was an actual bed or a light attachment for here crib.) Can't they do something for her like that? Hope all turns out well. Dusty I think you meant bili-blanket, a light p...

Re: Proud dad of a baby girl

Hello, Thanks everyone for the best wishes. Bad news is baby's jaundice aggravated once she was discharged and we had to rush to hospital very next morning. She spent another 72 hours under photo therapy. Looks like this type of jaundice is very rare(3-5%) and not curable easily. Photo therapy is ju...

Proud dad of a baby girl

He he .. We have a new cute little member in our family, a baby girl. That kept me soo busy since last Sunday, that I couldn't share the news. Bad part is baby developed severe jaundice (ABO incompatibility) and doctors diagnosed it quite late .. so bilirubin level shoot up to a dangerous level. The...

Re: SONY ALPH A A750

I didn't get the rationale behind this twilight football event, Sony neither has a single sports cam or any high ISO champ. Why did they waste that money is beyond me. If they don't use FIFA World Cup opportunity to launch a sports lens, cam I'd assume they are not serious about DSLRs. Ayan It's mu...

Re: Fimware for A230, A330, A380

I thought the a700 (at least) already had this. Is the metering not weighted by the area around the selected AF point? [/quote] Kevin, if you use multi-segment metering, then it probably gives extra weightage to the AF point linked metering cell .. but for spot metering it strictly uses the circular...

Re: Fimware for A230, A330, A380

Limited is an understatement, worse...the addition of exposure lock for CW and spot with AF confirm could cause as many problems as it solves. There is really no substitute for an AEL button. But with a very limited body design and cut down buttons, Sony's scope for solving issues via firmware is l...
