Re: Minolta Maxxum 7000 crossed X edition camera

When you mean the 7 gave up, is it broken..what's wrong with it? The CR123a batteries are commonly available where I am, as are the Cr2 ones (film 40/60/5/4/3L, 505si etc etc) Def do not go into a camera shop and buy them, you will get stuffed on price. I found some in a supermarket on special, also...

Re: A380 Amateur Photographer review

Forgot to mention evidently the 18-55mm DT new kit lens has no hood supplied.
Looks like Sony are copying their rivals in some ways.

Re: A380 Amateur Photographer review

Well not read any reviews, real ones that is. AP can be ok..but they are not IMO a great review mag. What I have been reading is the A230 user manual, so the A380 is sure to share many things. I note the following  Still badly written as ever (and add confusing too) 162 pages which is far t...

Re: A few from

Not sure which one I prefer, maybe the vertical one with the rocks is stronger, though I am never satisfied with my results in many cases, the light can always be that bit better :) Amazed you didn't get the new avatar, the man is something of a legend to civil war buffs: http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...

Re: Kodachrome 64....

Shame I took my last batch on digital. I managed to find an MPA member in my area, interestingly they also have some shots of the gap of dunloe ;-) I'll be willing to accept a honorary fellowship of the MPA     I found the link for the compo here: http://www.fujifilmd...

Re: Kodachrome 64....

Yes, their attempts at digital have been mostly very lame. But, what does that have to do with their film? They make good film. If you had bought more K64 then maybe they wouldn't be in such dire straits and would not discontinue K64. :) Ha ha very funny. Had I have bought 1000 rolls of the stuff i...

Impressive shots, as DK says I like the close up nature of them.

Re: Kodachrome 64....

Slide film is, well for want of a better word, on the "slide" sales wise  Finding somewhere to get the stuff developed is the main problem. Most labs will do colour negs, no problems..few do slides. Hence the reason many are shooting with negs now. Turnaround for me is about 30 mins...

Kodachrome 64....

Well they said it would happen, and it did. I expect they will sell out of the stuff fairly soon as photogs who like the film stockpile it. I have 2 rolls..yet to ever shoot a frame on KK 64. Typical, I buy a few rolls, and Kodak pull the plug! I bought the 5d, it arrives the day KM pull out of the ...

Re: Waikiki panorama from the 41st floor

Very nice pano. Autostitch is pretty good, it copes better than most. Ghosting can be a problem. Panorama maker 4 is also worth checking out.

Re: A few from

I have a few more for you to look at, and I will see if I can whip together a panoramic, I have a few shots that might make it. Thoughts and comments as ever welcomed. I would be lying if I said this was not a hugely impressive place, no one photo could ever convey the sheer scale of the place. Expo...

Re: A few from

I had a few ready, JFK, Richard Nixon, etc. Just ran out of ideas..so I picked someone who would seem to reflect a bit of personality! I don't know Capone is not that bad, no worse than most politicians anyway.

Any good ones fire away, I am all ears!

Re: A few from

That looks like a place where you can find great scenary Barry, where abouts on the map were you, just for interest sake, http://www.killarney.ac/mapindex.html Greg btw did you notice the rock shaped like a house on the last photo, but at a wonky angle. Hi Greg, no I didn't notice that, thanks for ...
