Re: Street shots
You might guess (correctly) that the first of these streets is Hollywood Boulevard. The second is a back street on the Freedom Trail in Boston and, yes, the white stuff on all of the horizontal surfaces is snow! The third, your average street in Bali.

Re: Black and White HDR
Mike,
Golf is banned in this house!! It's more likely the remains of a mulberry leaf. Nessie (the dog if you didn't guess) is more than happy to spend the day chasing them around the back yard.

Black and White HDR
Here's an interesting concept. I hadn't really thought about HDR in Black and White terms but it turns out that B&W can benefit from the HDR process too. I've posted a bit about it on my blog (link in my signature) and will post the pre-process and post HDR process images that result in this one...

Australian White Cockatoo in HDR
We have a bird sanctuary up the road from us that is inhabited mainly be White Cockatoos. This is an HDR shot of one of them taken the other day. Not necesarily of the same quality as the other bird-watchers that contribute here but I did it more as a demonstration that HDR doesn't have to look un-n...

Re: House in the country , in need of some repair ...
Great shots Birma, As Greg says, this type of architecture, and the history that accompanies it are absent from the Australian landscape. The original (European) inhabitants of Australia would have arrived here as the consequence of stealing a loaf of bread, or something similar, from a place like t...

For those feeling the cold, it isn't like that everywhere today.

Re: Challenge #26: Signs. 12/21/2009-1/11/2010
OK, so it's a boring photo of an uninteresting sign and it doesn't bear comparison with the others posted as offerings to this challenge (particularly Philips which I think takes the award to this point!!).....BUT, it was the 6th photo I took after taking my new CZ 135 f1.8 out of the box when I got...

Shameless Self Promotion and more
First things first. Happy New Year to everyone! I've decided over the course of the last month or so to amalgamate a range of sites we have been running and get them all into one place. I've finished the first part of the project so am interested in comments anyone might have. At the same time and w...

Re: Dawn on a Not So Great Salt Lake
Thankyou all for the comments. I'm interested in any comments people have about the use of HDR. I played with it for a while and probably haven't played enough so I'm thinking I'll go back and do some more bracketing. Though I'm not a huge fan of HDR, I sort of like the idea of using it selectively....

Dawn on a Not So Great Salt Lake
Considerably smaller when compared with Lonnie's great salt lake.

Too many Challenge 22 Portraits...
I've probably already broken the rules for the number of entries in a challenge - sorry Aster!! Anyway, maybe a portrait by definition has to be of a person?
