Re: Blurb B&W photo books

I noticed a few weeks ago that Blurb photo book prices have dropped. Also their shipping price to Japan has dropped. In 2015 this B&W book I made in Lightroom was $70, but now the identical book is $50. The shipping to Japan was $23, but now it is $11. ... It arrived here in Japan today. Much f...

I was wandering, after all this time living in Arequipa, did you learn how to live with the little earthquakes you have every week?

Hi Sury,
I'm not spending much time here either, and I'm surprised by your post. I hope you are doing better now, getting back to normal.
All the best!

Re: Sony announces new A9 in New York....

I was at Bic Camera today in Japan (been awhile since I stopped in to a camera store) and they had an A9 sitting out with 24-70mm f2.8 attached and no one looking at it. I played with it awhile and took a couple of photos. No one posts on this forum anymore though so I won't go to the trouble of wr...

Re: Is The Digital Tele-Converter Feature Worthwhile?

Nokia/Microsoft are doing a good job on oversampling images (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PureView). My Lumia 950 shoot 20MP DNG and 8MP jpg. If I zoom on the screen, the camera will give me a quite nice 8mp jpg, but the RAW file will be untouched (no zoomed raw).

Re: Sony announces new A9 in New York....

Colour is pretty much all in the mind and what is "correct" can also be affected by cultural preferences even before colour photography ever existed. I remember reading about the introduction of the Konika Minolta 7D, that part of the deliberation was on the color reproduction, since Mino...

Re: Sony announces new A9 in New York....

Yes, on one review of colours ( Jpeg shoot out () it was mentioned that women see colour differently to men not to mention the variations within the gender. Even if it is scientifically proved that women see better the colors than men, I have not find yet, in 20+ years working in the photolab indus...

Re: broken Sony 24-70mm G-Master lens

no comments surprising. It's not shocking to have something fail even an expensive lens. What is interesting is that they disputed it as a warranty repair when it seems to be just that ie manufacturing fault. I don't see a massive amount of people with their 24-70 G lenses broken on their cameras. ...

Re: Sony announces new A9 in New York....

Other than the impressive numbers (and lots of footnotes) what I find as a game changer is a) Sony introduced the camera as "Professional" b) Sony is "expanding" the Pro support program, adding support for Canada and opening two walk-in centers in the USA (New York and Los Angele...
