Re: Godox TT685S Flash
A warning, I have this flash which is great but also have the Li-ion model, had it for a year in Nikon fit. The Li-ion cell blew up (expanded) during charging and shows up as dead so I had to buy a new one. It had not been used much just lent to one press photographer who covered an event. The Li-i...

Re: "Brexit" hits prices hard on tech goods
I'm happily using my A900 on some events, and try to use the noise/grain in a creative way. Otherwise the A7S is my main camera for events and the A7R for everything else (I just bought the A7SII, the A7S go for sale after the wedding I have to shoot this Saturday) But I'm not ready for buy any A-m...

Re: "Brexit" hits prices hard on tech goods
Hi David, I remember you talking about the beauty of the SEL 28f2 -you didn't get to buy/try that one? I recall you been fond on superzooms, just keep the 24-240 for a while and then decide. Apparently (...) the camera that Sony will announce September 1 will be a high-end A-mount because a)they hav...

Re: "Brexit" hits prices hard on tech goods
I still do not like the 55mm - horrible rough bokeh and poor close focus - but it tests out as the sharpest, cleanest such lens made if you simply want to record a flat subject. Ideal for work like copying large paintings or pictures of brick walls, but honestly not the wonder lens so often claimed...

Re: How wide is wide enough?
...There is always the still-current Sony 20mm f/2.8 though I think that jump from 24mm to 16-18mm is what most users want. HI David, Had you try the Minolta/Sony 20mm f2.8 on modern cameras? I had it long time ago and sold it because I didn't find anything special on 6, 10 or 12 MP, but I haven't ...

Re: Godox TT685S Flash
I can confirm that this "Godox" flash is one of the best (specially for the price) for Sony. I bought two from Adorama (http://www.adorama.com/fplfsmzso.html $120) and the Wireless controller (http://www.adorama.com/fprrr2ts.html) and I've been lightly using it, specially as Radio/TTL remo...

CIPA numbers can probably explain better what's Sony actual situation (keep in mind they are not producing a full capacity, there are many back-orders products)

Re: Camera sales still dropping..
I would tend to agree the level of quality from images is probably at a point where there are no obvious reasons for most to upgrade. I didn't make the move to FF partly because I think I am satisfied with what I can get, though I might take a look at a cheaper body later on. I think that, what is ...

Re: Camera sales still dropping..
I don't think there was anything unfair about my Minolta 24-85 comments. not at all. And I do agree with you the 24-85 is a great underrated lens. But... The sony 24-70 is a great lens, but also over-rated. Well, no. IMHO the 24-70 f2.8 is not overrated. I didn't find anything special on this lens,...

Re: Camera sales still dropping..
I have a Sony 24-70Z, a Minolta 24-85 and 28-85 and I can't see a serious difference in picture quality with any of them that makes the Sony worth 10 times the cost. Well... probably the Sony-Zeiss 24-70 f2.8 is not "10 times better" than the Minolta 24-85 f3.5-4.5 (I do not have a way to...
