Re: Sigma 12-14mm &A900 at reculver
Apologies for being pedantic but I trust you meant the Sigma 12-24mm f/4.5-5.6 EX DG ASHPHERICAL HSM lens. Your posted results look really good. I wonder how the Sigma performs against the much acclaimed Nikon 12-24 lens? This Sigma W/A Zoom plus the CZ 24-70 and G 70-400 would be a powerful combina...

Re: 100 MP System Will Not Be Expensive
Reference DK's comments above re Scotland and new product innovation, I am not certain how many times I have been in a variety of EWM shops here in Scotland looking for a lightweight wool pullover and a pure wool slipover. All to no avail. They continue with the same medium and heavy weight stuff th...

Re: 100 MP System Will Not Be Expensive
Wow. That is exiting. So I was right to resist Sony's £50 cash-back offer on the A350. I was thinking of buying a second copy as my wife has laid claim to my A350. I wonder how long I need to wait until Sony offer me the opportunity to purchase one of these future wonders. I also am now speculating ...

Re: EXMOR - ClearVid Sony CMOS
A1000 is again doing his bit to promote Sony products. Since most of us are interested in DSLRs rather than video we could do with some of this technology being incorporated in a new line of Alpha DSLRs Exmor™ Noise Reduction Technology Sony developed the new Exmor technology specifically for CMOS s...

Re: Which is your most used / favourite lens(es)?
When I used Minolta MD I mostly used a Sigma 28-70 F2.8. It was heavy but good. I also liked a fairly light Sigma 70-210 F3.5-4.5 APO and for wide angle the super sharp Minolta 24 mm F2.8. Now that I use A700/A350 most images are taken through that CZ 16-80 and when it is not wide enough on comes Si...

Look at prices for LCD TVs. ...

Re: A800 Rumor
I basically agree with Sonolta that you buy the camera system that suits your requirements and if a particular player cannot meet these requirements you change. That is what many do with cars etc. and the same should apply to camera systems. Each individual photographer has his/her own specific requ...

Re: Sigma 120-400DG OS HSM
I have long had this lens in my sight, but held back due to the published weight. I note DK is stating above that the Sony version is lighter than the published 1,750 Kg. I once asked Sigma if they could provide me with the Sony version weight. They stated they had just received supplies but not yet...

Re: Sigma 120-400DG OS HSM
I would be keen to learn more about the functioning of this lens. I have been put off a little by the 1,750 Kg weight. I would like to know if it has lens stabilisation for Alpha that can be switched off or if this has been completely disabled for the Alpha mount. Based on O1af's insert above in len...

Re: A800 Rumor
I must admit I am getting confused. Some time ago there was a rumour that Nikon would release their D400 shortly with a Sony 16 Mp sensor and an Alpha would probably follow. I assumed that Sony were determined to match or exceed the sensor size and performance of the Canon 50D and they were quite ha...
