Re: Who has pre-order a Sony's HVLF20AM Flash like me ?

Sounds like a nice flash Don. I received my Sony HVL-F20AM flash from Hong Kong yesterday, as I expected excellent speedy delivery. Can I ask who you used? Was it chrisman2882? Did you get stung for the import tax or did they mis-value the package to avoid it?! Yes Paul, that was the place and no i...

Don, I must say I agree with you on your list of bad ideas. Let's just hope Sony wake up soon.

Sounds like a nice flash Don. I received my Sony HVL-F20AM flash from Hong Kong yesterday, as I expected excellent speedy delivery. Flash comes with a little drawstring bag to keep it in, though it is so small it could go in a pocket in the camera bag or shirt. Triggers my old Minolta 3600HS-D flash...

Re: Who has pre-order a Sony's HVLF20AM Flash like me ?

I have ordered the HVL-F20AM from Hong Kong on eBay. Hopefully here by end of next week, usually HK is as fast as some UK suppliers! (and it was £85).

Re: Using Linux for photography

Not seriously, only on the EeePC for checking that I have backed up my files to the portable HD when away from home. I hope to replace that with an Apple MacBook Pro 13" soon however, then I can run Aperture.

Re: Euphorbia - a serious warning

I have also been in touch with the council and the farmer about these giant hogweed plants - unfortunately they don't seem that concerned. I have sprayed them in the past but they keep coming back and are spreading. The farmer just cut them down, spreading the seeds about. The council did spray them...

Re: Euphorbia - a serious warning

Sorry to hear about that David, hope you will make a full recovery soon.

We have giant hogweed in the field beside us and I know how dangerous that can be, it sensitises the skin to sunlight and causes burns.

I will look up Euphorbia and make sure we don't have any just in case.

Re: Venice old and new

David, maybe after you get home and have a chance to review your Venice photos some more you may find that you like some of them a lot more than when you saw them the first time. When I get home from a trip and start reviewing mine I always have such a feeling of disappointment in my shots. Then la...

Re: Venice old and new

The conditions are like that shot generally. Of course, it would be no use as a stock pic, which is our purpose when shooting generally - the gondola is empty. He's not got any tourists on board. Therefore, not usable for mags, guide books, or anything much! I got a good one today, can't post it (n...

Re: Am I getting old ha ha

I don't have a scanner at the moment, but in amongst them is a self-portrait I don't remember taking which was pretty good for a 15-year-old, using a large piece of mirror or maybe glass (could be greenhouse glazing) in an outdoor scene to frame me shooting the pic as a mini-photo in the view. Davi...

Re: New Galleries

Hi Yildiz, The tourist policeman at first said he would show us the best place to take photos and then started to take us to 2 other nearby Mosques, despite us saying that we only had 2 minutes before the bus left. I then realised that he was after some small compensation, and I didn't have any mone...

Re: New Galleries

I really like the galleries David, especially Petra and the flower pictures. The tonality and the micro-detail in the shots give a 3D feel to many (I'd almost convinced myself I didn't need an A900 - now I'm not so sure) Please let us know when you have some more images up. Paul Thanks Paul. I gues...

Re: New Galleries

it's interesting the story about people hiding from the A900. I've been hearing a lot of this sort of thing recently on the forums and about other restrictions, maybe there is somethig to this "smaller is better " push. I Really liked going through your gallery. is there more to come from...
