Re: dPreview makes ACR exception for Olympus
Very funny. I was tossed off of DPR numerous times for saying the very same thing about ACR regarding Sony a700 files well over a year ago! I posted this very same information regarding ACR and Sony files on numerous review and test websites including DPR and IR, and I also posted it to the Adobe f...

Re: is dyxum the best alpha forum?
Its a nice place, very populated and often the posters are nice people so there is a nice atmosphere. But I like this place also, even if it can get a bit quiet from time to time.

Re: A330 bundled with a Sony GPS unit
I just use my Garmin GPS for when I need to geotag, works really really well.. accurate to about 10 meters. It spits out a GPX-file which can be used together with GeoSetter to write the GPS data into EXIF, which sites like Flickr then can read. All you need to do is sync the time on the camera with...

Re: New Review of the Sony A900 is Very Positive
I picked up a mag last month which is aimed at professional photographers (Proffsfoto is the name of the mag) and they had done a review on the A900 and on the Sony system as a whole from a pro POV. The review was mostly positive, basically it came down to as of now Sony has few options for a pro, b...

Re: Here is what Sony did to my A700
Well that was nice of them.
I've only had to send my A100 in to have the flash shoe replaced, the only thing they did beside replacing the shoe was clean the camera, which I was very happy with. Though that was not a Sony repair shop, I doubt they have one in Sweden.

Very nice.
The A100 is my preferred camera when it comes to macro, at low ISO it beats out the A700 for sharpness I think.

Re: Another new Sony DSLR in the pipeline?
Adding HD video will hopefully shut up the vocal minority over there. :) You must mean SHUT UP the old farts that think video is a waste of time! I already bought the HX1 for pictures+HD-video, so I am set for a while. :D  Cool..but the artistic DSLR oof, bokeh, and isolation properties are k...

Re: LCD robustness
That's the same piece of cra* that fell off my A700 in less than two weeks...before it fell off I believe it was scratched by my shirt! Yeah...the plastic is some of the softest plastic on earth and we have typical Sony QC on the fit...cra*. Honestly, that Sony protector is a 10 cent piece of plast...

Re: LCD robustness
I got this one from SonyStyle http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3632/3603914248_67c612f86d.jpg It sits there very securely, yes it is scratched but it is made out of plastic. ;) At first I used my A700 without any protection, then I saw a post over at Dyxum of someone having dropped his camera on the s...

I just read this over at dpreview. Very interesting news. Adding HD video will hopefully shut up the vocal minority over there. :) Lets wait and see if the rumours of Sony "wanting to do it right" holds any water. I already bought the HX1 for pictures+HD-video, so I am set for a while. :D ...

Congrats rob, nice website and nice pictures.
The A900 really is a beast. I have seen some samples in the past from different cities and the clarity of some of those city shots is really impressive.

Focus looks pretty spot on to me. Nice shot.
For being a fly he is quite handsome.. with his fire:ish backside.

Little beetles feasting on a Dandelion
This little guy was very hard to photograph. Not only is the visibility of the lens (Spiratone Macro 1:3.5 35mm) very poor when set at f8, I didnt have a tripod (becase I forgot to transfer the quick release from my A700 to the A100) and he kept walking around. It felt like I was juggling when tryin...

Re: A380 330 230 details on Sony sites
Nice, thanks Howard.
I hope there is a nice boost in ISO performance on the A380. Then I'd possibly be interested in replacing my A100 with it.
