Re: Nex camera able to be full frame in the future ?

For me the NEX have been kind of a let down. I believed it would have IS, and thought it would have AF adapter for Alpha mount. At the moment, the Nex 3 and 5 leave me wanting for several reasons. 1. No IS. This is a biggy. I love my Sigma 10-20, and sometimes use it handheld on my A700 with sharp r...

Sorry, But I'm waiting to the A472.45, which would be probably the same but with double the blink rate in focus confirmation mode!
Seriously, can't get into the minds of SONY. Hope they release a good replacement for the A700 soon.

Dusty, I can't agree more.

When I switched to digital in early 2008, my choices for E-6 developing went down to one lab, which charges now something like 14$ to develop a roll (sometimes i get a discount to 'only' 12$). this is more than twice of the older price, and made slide development for me to pricey - one roll, buying ...

In reality, I too doubt there would be any difference.

Actually, a year ago I bought a Sigma EX UV filter to replace my old Hoya HMC on the Zeiss 16-80 - Can't see any notable difference (the sigma is much thinner, and doesn't vignette; That's the sole reason I bought it). There would be a difference between non-coated, single coated and multi-coated - ...

Re: A700 v/s A900 - Blue tint

Sury,
I believe that the flash metering is quite different because the area metered is very different. the distance is the same, but the camera sees through the lens - thus the different coverage may well lead to different exposure.

Re: Micro Adjustment

As far as i know, no physical harm would be done. The problem is that some third-party lenses are incorrectly identified by the camera as minolta lenses, because of some reverse engineering they've used (for example, imagine what would happen if the camera thinks a sigma 12-24* is a minolta 17-35, a...

different exposures, different metering, it seems.

Must say, though, that if my A700 is suffering from any tint with flash shots, its yellow/orange.

Re: Tripods

I use it for long exposures - from sunsets to night scenes, or for very long lenses. I always carry a gorillapod mini-tripod when Hiking.
I use tripod mabye 2% of the time, but it is defnitely worth having.

Actually, I didn't like DXO very much.

it collapsed (Stable Win XP Machine) too many times (i'll say, at least one crash for three images), it had the tendency to produce sharpening artifacts even if I turned off sharpening altogether, and it seemed to apply NR when I wanted it not too. It has many strength, but I'm really not sure it's ...

Agorabasta, could you explain How-to?

I'm not sure I understood HOW to do that double-developing thing, and it seems useful indeed.

Used the 28-135 and the 500/8 on the A900. Picture very sharp with the 28-135 and reasonably sharp with the 500/8.

Good Point - "salvo shooting" can act as MLU (at the price of one un-sharp photo at the begining of the sequence, but it's quite limited in long exposures - but in those I need the MLU.

Re: First official specs and pics of A500 + A850

At least three people I know are waiting to see if Sony is going to offer Video in their DSLR before buying a system. I bet there's a lot more of those. Personally I don't care about video, but since it seems many people want it up to the point where they'll ignore a camera without it, then it would...

Sony Alpha 850 Waiting list in a German Photo store

http://www.fotobrenner.de/default.asp?SON=5&ARTNR=210296 (with an 28-75/2.8 at 2,699 Euro) http://www.fotobrenner.de/default.asp?SON=5&ARTNR=210297 Does any German reader know Brenner foto? I wonder how much does the Sony 28-75 share in common with the (not very new) Tamron 28-75. P.S. I've ...
