Links to Dyxum are usually safe.
It is about a bit of code for updating lens info in JPG/XMP files for Sony (and I think other) cameras. Looks good in principle, but I couldn't get it to work for me. :(

Re: Reverse Macro Ring - Lens Not Found?

I've found a Shutter override setting, but I've a new problem. I can take a photo of my backlit screen, and it's dark. REALLY dark, even with flash, and tweaking out the exposure, and shutter settings. Do I need to blanket our subject with tons of light for anything to look decent? I suspect that t...

Re: High ISO

If a user's current camera is not producing the results they need above ISO400 then I doubt many people are using it! The poll may be a bit skewed a bit by that fact alone... That was going to be my comment too. I would use it a lot more if the A100 was more capable at those heights. I suspect that...

I suspect that most people do not do it consciously. They either use something like PS 'save for web' which seems like a sensible option with this side-effect, or the host site that they use to publish their images strips it out.

Re: a100 questions

Does anyone know if one can revert back to the original 1.0 or 1.1 firmware from the 1.04 firmware by installing the old firmware again? thanks All good replies so far - addressing the problem and not just your proposed fix. In answer to your original question though, I think some of the replies ar...

Re: ALPHA 100 FIRMWARE UPDATE.

I current have an Alpha 100 with Version 1.00. I have looked at the Sony Website to obtain update version (1.04). I can follow the instructions OK, but am confused in that the base of my Camera says EU only, however when I go to the Europe website (as per instructions) I get the Asian version. I mi...

Re: plate glass negatives

My Partner very kindly bought me some plate glass negatives from a charity shop. They look well composed and might be historic, looks like they were taken by a wealthy person of their lovely home somewhere in Norfolk. There are also glass negatives of the broads and old boats. How would i make prin...

No it won't, but you could convert to DNG using the latest Adobe DNG convertor and use DNG RAW files with CS2.

Re: Removing 'Ghost' Artifacts

I'm in the process of tidying up some shots from a friend's wedding, and a couple of the good ones are currently being ruined by green 'ghost' patches caused by the bright church windows. Anyone got any suggestions on the best way to remove such patches in post processing? I have Photoshop CS2, and...

Re: Minolta Dimage 5400

Luckily I have an old machine with XP and......I did purchase Vuescan, though do not like its interface Yes, the interface takes some getting used to. Vuescan has a lot of functionality, but is not very pretty. It has served me well without the need for dual boot/legacy machines etc in limited space.
