Re: Coppermine Problems
Thanks David - I had another go. I tried to log in, but was not recognised. I then re-registered using the identical ID and password as previously used. This was accepted and I received the email of confirmation. I logged in and was able to upload a file, and deposit it into my gallery in the normal...

Coppermine Problems
Hi David For the last couple of weeks Coppermine has not been working correctly. The history has gone back to 2007. When one uploads new pics they seem to be accepted with the proviso that they will appear after they are approved by admin. This latter appears never to happen. Please repair. regards ...

Re: Watercolour Look
The “original photo” is actually a combination of three photos - the foreground, the central building/trees/mountains, and the dramatic sky. I attach a copy for information. The watercolour look is achieved by through the use of Photoshop’s Art History Brush. For more information on my method see: h...

Re: New forum
I have to agree with Olaf. The post-processing of photographs can be handled under Digital Workflow and PP. The subject of Art Techniques is something else again. I am very much into this sort of thing and I know that the average photographer does not consider this aspect of imaging as being "h...

Comments on Coppermine Gallery
I notice that the first comments have appeared against photographs in the "new" Photoclubalpha Gallery (= Coppermine). Unfortunately they are not the sort of comments that the authors might hope for.

Re: Hello from Colorado
Hi Jerry - Welcome Its been a lifelong ambition of mine to attend the Pikes Peak Hill Climb with my camera - but I doubt that we'll ever make it there. Also - although I've been a WRC fan for years and have hundreds of rally photos, I must say that there have been only about two shots that I conside...

Re: Thinking of HDR with D7D - RAW for easy bracketing?
Hi BR I use the D7D and have done a fair amount of HDR stuff. Please look at the three examples I put in the Photoclubalpha Gallery (.. > User galleries > dewarp > PD's HDR). Obviously, I start with RAW files and convert these to jpg's. Both "Bones of a Fisherman" and "Wilgemond"...

Hi Alan
For comment on Elements vs CS2, see under DSLR System - A700 and Photoworld.
I would recommend that you rather start with The Gimp.

Re: Seeking ideas on software for workflow and PP
Hi Alan I also use a 7D. My workflow is as follows: I use RAW. I take RAW+JPEG, but only because on the 7D you need the JPEG to zoom in on the screen. I use a card reader to download the RAW's and then delete all files on the card. I get the camera to re-format the card every three or four usages. I...

Mike's UK Tour
Hi David
It occurred to me that you may be able to provide Mike Johnston with some pointers for his proposed roadshow.
