Sury, if you haven't made your mind up yet, why not check out the lenses on http://www.dyxum.com/lenses/results.asp?chbLensType=3
The lens marks out of 5 are much of a muchness and most lenses have entries in the Dyxum sample images so you can judge for yourself......

Is Retouching Acceptable?
David's latest headline. At the end it says "leave a comment" but I don't subscribe to Facebook, Twitter or Google or any other potentially abhorrent forum so I'll comment here. You provide 4 examples. The first one with a modicum of adjustment to a portion of the image, perfectably accept...

Re: Evaluations and Winner Announcement of Challenge #60: “We’re Going Autumnal !”
. Hi Cogito; :) Thank you for your contributions to the challenge. You definitely have an innate love for elaborate colouring in post-production. Your photo shot on the way to Yosemite (#4), reminded me of Alfred Hitchcock’s movie ‘Psycho’, the frame could easily have made the background for some o...

Re: London Town
15 years ago eh? Probably worth another visit. Did you go up in the EYE? My guess is no since ANY shot from "up there" is quitr spectacular. Oh lord, I'm going to have to look through my negatives to find my images from the Eye... Hope you enjoyed your visit and find time for another. P.S....

Thanks, Sury! Out of your images my favourites are #2 and #4. I personally find it difficult to NOT over-exaggerate the colours... And no, no, no, I'm not suggesting that you've done that! Having said that I did take this in Algonquin - I think there's more than one tree involved! http://g2.img-dpre...

Top left and near-top right provide the autumn colour..... Algonquin in Canada. Taken with my Minolta XM on Fujicolor 100 ASA. No idea of what lens, aperture or shutter speed. http://g4.img-dpreview.com/0A2DBED890D947919CBD991F1BF35825.jpg Again with the Minolta XM. Kew gardens, London. Still no ide...

Taken with an Olympus -E30. It's a reflection of my pinball machine in the conservatory window. Also, you can see the snow outside. http://g1.img-dpreview.com/F3F8025D613045F4AF24CC19F1E22F18.jpg This was taken in Yosemite with my Minolta XM. No idea of lens, aperture, f-stop or ISO. http://g3.img-d...

Re: The Digicams that Roared
I've got a Sony A57, an Olympus E-30 (only because of the 12-60 lens which is superb) and a Leica Digilux 2 charged up and ready to shoot. And I would quite happily exchange the Sony and the Olympus for a Minolta 7D (with the sensor replaced) for some of the criteria you state. The Leica for walk-ab...
