Re: Some people find birds in trees

I think Javelinus may be taken already - either a very thin fast moving fish, or a very small fast moving Mexican wild pig... David Yes, a fish that's also called 'Southern Whiptail' which lives in the depths of then Southern Hemisphere, mostly Australia and New Zealand. The Latin name of the speci...

Re: Old, derelict buildings

Yildiz, that first building of yours is pretty cool! Thank you bakubo. :) This Greek house looks interesting too, especially the way it's situated in a haven of nature. This time I have a derelict very old high-rise, dating from around 1950-60s in the city of Istanbul. I hope it fits in with the ti...

Re: Some people find birds in trees

Javelin, I think you should make sure that thesse photos are well-protected for posterity because there's a good chance that you might be witnessing the first encouraging changes in the evolution of groundhogs. Next phase may appear as growth of bat-like skin from back of the front paws to the side ...

Re: feed the gulls

I suppose the cure begins with the particular lens brand and type one uses. The better the lens coating is less or no CA is visible around the subjects that have bright colours and also are under bright lighting conditions. Some new lenses-which are costlier than the kit lenses- introduced new coati...

Re: feed the gulls

Hi gio67, :) I hope our Istanbullian seagulls won't mind that I find your species very interesting-looking. I like the first photo's composition and the pattern of bokeh formed by the water surface as a background. The duck offers fine details and bright colours. The white, pristine quality of their...

Re: Lens information on exif

Hi, Actually I personally haven't used DxO for lens-distortion-corrections yet. The other programs I use to view the thumbnails display all lens information as part of the EXIF data provided that that's a raw file thumbnail that is. Yildiz ps. Here's one screengrab from magnolia raw file when I hove...

Re: CZ 16-80mm- Eligible Portrait Lens?

I found the 16-80 a perfect standard lens to go with, if not only for portrait. Since I have availability of other options...I seldom use if for kid's portrait coz in that sense, any of the 50/1.4 or 85/1.4 will do a better job  I had only the CZ 16-80mm on the camera when the kids came al...

Re: Blossomville

jbtaylor; that peony may be the 'Tree Peony Feng Gong Wei Ji'. I am not sure but the leaves look similar to the leaves of the species in this link: http://www.thompson-morgan.com/plants1/product/p87878/1.html Peonies indeed have beautiful flowers and many varieties. I ran a simple search and almost ...

I'm patiently awaiting your blossoms, Dr. Harout. :)

Let's see how colours of nature break the silence and sing tunes of spring in their own style.

Thanks,

Re: Short Cumbrian Trip

Interesting. I find the uphill shot of Aira Force very attractive. Becomes more attractive for belonging to the National Trust because it is prohibited to photographers in general. Ah, just as I was posting the above lines your new photos arrived. Very nice both but the hills fading within different...

That's one good farmhouse which I like the look of the disintegrating stone walls David.

And here are two samples from my archives from the city.
