Re: Back in the theater

Here’s a link to the St. Louis Ballet’s Facebook post that has more information (for any “Facebookers” out there). https://www.facebook.com/stlouisballet/photos/a.179042637379/10158736156147380/ P.S. “Zyg” is an old (Polish) stage-name of mine, from my early days of East European folk dancing. 8)

Re: Back in the theater

Thanks everyone! I hope you enjoy the performance Yildiz (and anyone else who watches). Thank you for you support! You (and anyone else) are allowed to share the link that you receive in your email with whomever you want. If it’s okay, I’ll probably post the link (ticket) that I receive in my email....

Re: Back in the theater

As far as the performance goes, it hasn't been broadcast yet. You all have a chance to see it on-line for free. :) The performance is entitled "This Is - Who We Are" and consists of small ensemble works choreographed by Gen Horiuchi and set to J.S. Bach’s French Suites. The performance pre...

Re: Back in the theater

Thanks Sury! Hi Yildiz! :D Thinking that masks in our photos will mark an era might seem to be an exaggeration at the moment, but it's so true. For the purpose of recording history, I think that we should all take lots of photos of people in their everyday lives wearing masks. Sig A7III, 70-200 G, F...

Re: Back in the theater

Yes, breathing through masks makes the dancing a little harder. For those of us who have experience dancing in roles that require wearing things like Mouse King and Nutcracker heads, it's business as usual. :) But now it seems the other dancers have acquired some empathy for us, having to deal with ...

Back in the theater

Hi All! It was nice to be back in the theater yesterday, albeit with masks and a "virtual" audience. :D I was running one of the video cameras for the broadcast, but I managed to get a couple of photos during the rehearsal, and a few more during the actual performance. The dancers wore the...

Re: Nightfall on Neptune (a narrative dance short)

Thanks Yildiz! Cinderella! It didn’t occur to me, but yes, there are similarities. Just substitute the hair brush for a slipper, and it’ll be very close. :) Sury, glad to hear that you're enjoying the photos. :) Do you have the 4456 as captured by the camera in the shot? I don’t remember. The camera...

Re: Nightfall on Neptune (a narrative dance short)

Thanks Sury! 4053 is my most favorite in the second set of photos. It's mine too. Erin looks like a fashion model in that photo. - Sig Thankfully, the subsequent days and nights of shooting were much warmer. Re: Nightfall on Neptune (a narrative dance short)

A friend who was standing by, grabbed my camera and took this shot. The overhead light was catching the wind like a sail. That’s me holding onto the light stand to keep it from blowing over. Re: Nightfall on Neptune (a narrative dance short)

This scene was shot in St. Louis’ Forest Park. Elliott had to get a permit to film inside the park, and we had to be cleared out by 10:00 pm. Since this needed to be a night scene, it was shot in October when the Sun sets early, so we could have several hours of darkness before we had to leave. On t...

Re: Nightfall on Neptune (a narrative dance short)

This is the poster from the movie. I had given the Elliott the photos that I had taken during the filming, and he decided to use a couple of the shots for the poster. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw it, and impressed with his creativeness. I think that the image of the moon illuminating the ba...
