New galery for Sigma 12-24/f4.5-5.6
Seeing the success of my previous lens galeries - or better said, their hit rates, not really a measure of success - I thought a good idea of creating another one to show how Sigma´s 12-24 performs on α900. So for who wants to know, or simply never get enough of looking at pictures, I´ve put a new ´...

Re: A900 "camera error"
None in fact, it´s under a 5 years warranty sold with it in 2006 on the occasion of a national tradeshow here. I bet they´re regretting it now. I read a thread in Dynax Digital Forums though, saying the costs outweighted the value (of α100 of course)... For me, the pain sits in having it out of reac...

Re: A900 "camera error"
I hope it´s not the same dreaded ´Camera Error 0x5b´ well known on the α100!? Mine just started showing it again, after been serviced back in april. It´s going back tomorrow again... It means the camera does not succeed in setting the lens´ aperture anymore, iow all that´s left is shooting wide open...

Re: testing a lens, methods
To check AF, I put the camera on a tripod at closest possible focus range, almost level (slightly above) with my keyboard. Aperture priority, full open, lowest ISO, MLU, aim a key (for me the bend in the U), shoot. The important part is, AF should be possible on what you point to, so something flat ...

Re: Sample gallery Sigma 50/f1.4 EX DG HSM
I really think we should be careful with taking for granted what only one user has reported so far. If his autofocus is really broken, I´m fully convinced it´s a coincidence and has nothing to do with using MFA on other than Sony / Minolta lenses. Moreover, if it were true, I´m sure Sony would issue...

Re: Sample gallery Sigma 50/f1.4 EX DG HSM
Do you Post Process a lot? Depends on what you call a lot of course, but I objectively think not that much. I´m an old fashioned guy, like to get it right to start with, keep the shutter activations as low as possible. I usually shoot raw now, import into Aperture (referenced), set ´highligh...

Not sure I really deserve all those nice words, but it certainly makes me feel welcome.

Re: What lenses do you use?
Thank you both! Yes Olaf, I saw that thread, even contributed a few lines to it if you look really close. I don't know what to think, nor if Roy's cam is really broken. A lot of misunderstanding anyway... I cannot check myself, as I have no conflicting lenses according to Paul Harvey's list, but I d...

Re: What lenses do you use?
Apologies for not replying immediately. I have created a small gallery and put a roll (37 images) with a random mix of Sigma 70/f2.8 EX DG Macro shots. Well, random, I tried to discard the worst ones of course. This way, you can have a closer look yourselves and form your own opinion, I´d hate to be...

Re: Hello from Switzerland
Thank you David, dr. Harout and Bossel, I can already sense the friendly approach here! @David: I have myself decided against changing nationality, I guess for the same reason as UK citizens. Being EU resident with a Swiss permit grants you unlimited access in the whole of the EU and Switzerland, th...

Re: Hello from Switzerland
 Grüezi zusammen! The woman made me expat myself to France in 1970, but since then she´s loyally following me where I happen to go, I´m sure I didn´t always deserve that! So, it was work actually leading me to the French speaking part of this beautiful country, a long and complicated story but ...
