Thanks, a useful news item for the magazine. I'll post it on the main site as well now!

Not sure what the fuss is all about.

There have been no new CZ lenses for quite a while. It would be nice if CZ /Sony offered some fast WA primes. AF versions of the 21/2.8, 25/1.4, 28/2.0. 35/1.4 Distagons would be great to have.

Will CZ ever be allowed to offer a full range of lenses , given Sony's desire to position their own G lenses as a premium range? Only time will tell.

In the meanwhile if Nikon ever offers the D3x sensor in a D 700 body, I'd switch in a heartbeat.

I don't follow you? - If you are already a Sony user then why switch systems to what would essentially be an A900 without built-in image stabilisation at no doubt a higher cost (and without the Zeiss AF lenses)?

Is this really news at all? To me it looks like a boiler plate investor relations press release from Zeiss confirming the "status quo."

Yes. The cooperation might have ended (as many feared). Cheers, Bob

In a word: Optics.

The Nikon system offers an extensive range of quality optics. Nikon and CZ.

Sony is introducing new lenses, but they appear not to be interested in releasing fast primes or specialized lenses, such as T/S or fast long teles.

But the fast primes won't be stabilised on Nikon? There are very high quality T/S options coming for Sony but very costly.
