Minolta 7000i compatibility with Tamron 70-300?

Unread post by alphaomega »

I am trying to sell my Sony fit Tamron AF 70-300mm F/4-5,6 Di LD MACRO 1:2 on ebay and an interested party has enquired if this lens will operate with the Minolta 7000i. The issue is that the Tamron has eight connectors whereas the 7000i only has five. I actually thought that all AF lenses for Minolta/Sony would operate with all Minolta AF cameras, but maybe I am wrong on this. Anyone out there who can help? Thanks in advance.

afaik it should work - the extra pins were introduced initialy for power zoom (Xi) & then used to support ADI & SSM
