That's very much possible. All that's needed is to use that bright daylight for the EVF LCD backlight together with the normal backlight. That would also help with the WB of such display.
Obviously, that won't work for OLED.

Good idea. Also, it could be concentrated slightly using a fresnel or prismatic lens.

Still, for the time being, your suggestions sound much more realistic...
But one may only dream, as adding more electronics is the way they do it now. It's very unfortunate, I'd fancy.
