I could argue that if one was looking for a smallish, less obtrusive system, then the a900 ain't the tool for the job, but yes, it was meant a joke. The a900 rather outclasses the 18-70, with its plastic mount and minimal build, but then if the 18-70 can't resolve much more than 10 megapixels, then the APS-C crop in the middle of the a900 isn't a bad fit. The 18-70 actually looks as if it's image circle will cover a full frame from about 26-70mm, but a 100% FF viewfinder (or some film exposures from my Maxxum5) will tell for sure.
