problem with hvl f56am on a700

the flash fires on test , but when i put it on the camera it will not fire, i,ve tried new batteries, the wireless function etc and still nothing,

i have had the unit for about 18 months but only used it about 6 times

any ideas anybody thanks

make sure the contacts are clean. Also there have been reports from others of loose fit on the hotshoe causing intermitten failures so see how loose it is and maybe it wil fire if it's held. The fix for that is usually a repair to the flash.

It might also pay to check and see if you haven't accidently left it in WL mode, also it only fires (compulsory) every time in 'fill flash' setting, if not in 'fill flash' the camera may decide that flash isn't necessary for a particular composition...
