Off camera flash

Unread postby paulmurphy » Thu Jan 20, 2011 11:02 pm

A new area for me, trying to learn some off camera flash techniques.

Here are a couple of my youngest daughter (much better to photograph than my ugly mug).

Details Sony A700 on manual, Sony HVL 42 at 1/4 power fired through a translucent umbrella, with Minolta 3600D used to light background, both triggered wirelesley by the pop upflash on the A700.

Best wishes

Nice pix Paul.

ps. I'm fairly sure fractional control doesn't work in WL mode, it reverts back to TTL 1/1 despite what it might say on the LCD. I need to do some more tests with the light meter to confirm.
