Since my 2500D is not WL enabled, how can I disable the preflash from my A100 to trigger an old Hanimex flash with photocell slave attached. It pre flashes using both the popup and the 2500D on camera, causing the Hanimex to fire early and not affecting exposure.I do hope there`s a workaround but I can`t find one.

Obviously I`ve already disabled AiAF and red eye in camera.

Thanks.Dave

Get a new digital compatible slave cell - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Digital-Slave-Fla ... 53e5691f9e

or something similar. It's not possible by any other means.

Thank you David. :D
I thought I`d get a definitive answer from you. From other sources I`ve received well meaning but conflicting advice.

Will the method described also work with my 2500D off camera?

Very many thanks,DaveImage

If you can find a slave cell trigger for Minolta shoe, or use an adaptor (not easy to find) the 2500D can be fired off camera on full power by a digital slave triggered by the onboard flash.

If you trigger and control the 2500D from the camera wirelessly, the slave cell I linked to can handle up to 5 preflash bursts. My guess is that it probably can be persuaded to sync a dumb flash alongside a Sony wireless rig.

Thank you once again David. If I do go ahead and get a slave like you linked,I`ll make my findings known on here for the benefit of others.

Dave.
