As reported by Gary Friedman, who put a lot of work into giving Sony details of this problem. No response from Sony.

If you read the comments it looks as though there have been at least two fixes in recent firmware releases, an earlier one listed by Sony about ADI flash problems, and this latest apparently complete fix, not mentioned by Sony.

Interesting.
Sony seem to be following Pentax by fixing things and not listing them.
At least is has been addressed, but it would make more sense to be a bit more open about it on their firmware page

So we should wait for a newer firmware for the a99. Hmmm...
