Unfortunately yes, that really exists. That's one of the points of photography in medicine.

Seems to me a lookin the eye would see the tumour growing but they don;t often do that with babies so young. That story was posted at a small local camera/film shop here and made the local news at the time. every so often something remiinds me of it and I dig it out and post it around.

Re: Something every photographer should know
Nice thing you did Javelin.
Re: Something every photographer should know
Thanks for the reminder Javelin,
About 20 days ago, I actually read on MSN News the true story of a baby being diagnosed with retina cancer with the help of a photo taken by its mother and sent to a friend. The friend realized that something was wrong with the baby's eye and informed the mother. Consequently, the baby was treated immediately and saved.
Maybe there are other illnesses that can be surfaced for medical attention through simple, daily photography with 'red-eye-correction-off' only waiting to be discovered.
Thanks again,
Yildiz

A nice interesting link in our signatures could go a long way. Use the code below or feel free to change the visible link text. It should come out as you see below the code.
Shoot babies to fight infant eye cancer.

If you want it to say something else, just find where is begins to read "Shoot babies" and edit that section of text but stop before you get to the "[" bracket.

I wonder what will come out of the signature "Shoot babies to fight infant eye cancer" when translated automatically. E.g. Shoot = shoot with a gun, thus someone elsewhere might misunderstand this. Better use the word "photograph".

Oh, but Doc! That's the point! That's what gets the clicks! In the English speaking world, we have fun with that play on words all the time.Dr. Harout wrote:I wonder what will come out of the signature "Shoot babies to fight infant eye cancer" when translated automatically. Several years ago, Popular Photography magazine
Had "How to shoot X" section each month. One month the subject was "How to shoot kids". The protests were so loud, the magazine apologized next month for the wording.
