Some photos with the A700 and 100-300 APO D
A bit dull so all 800-1600 but no real post processing done apart from a quick sharpen and contrast in irfanview

I would've cropped tight on those active players. But that's just me

I really like this one, and the rest on your flikr are pretty nice too! There should be enough material there to get into a very heated argument with Sonolta! (I sure hope Don appreciates my jest)

Thanks for the comments.
I like the way 'most' of the players are all concentrating on the ball so much.
Also I have to admit without some noise reduction and using the raws perhaps, if cropped the jpgs I used might not look so hot. Also given the light levels I think I really needed a faster lens, perhaps I could have gone with my new 135 f1.8 and then used lower ISO's and then been better able to crop but I think I used the 300mm range of the lens a lot so perhaps 135 wouldn't have been nearly long enough.
Anyway it was my first stadium sport photography and my first time inside Twickenham so it was an ace day anyway.
