here is my scan of an old magazine ad for the Minolta 7000 from the mid-80s. :)

it was a ground-breaking SLR and i think i had a childhood fantasy over it  I am pretty sure i photocopied the form and sent away to Minolta for a copy of that brochure ... which i don't know whether i still have... in a box somewhere... but as i am a compulsive hoarder i wouldn't be surprised if i do

Timely. as the new cameras have the same sort of styling.

I have a lot of old Minolta literature and magazines but not always easy to find.

You can post images directly, no need to use a link and hide it, as it is better to see the image on the page I think:

It makes any subsequent discussion on the forum a bit easier for people dropping in on a thread if they can see the pic. Reduces the hit count on the Imageshack page though I guess :-)

Interesting, that has AF speeds too!

Hard to read the numbers though.
That's the classic 80's Boxy hi fi look that found it's way onto cameras!

David, your comment about posting images directly prompts me to ask how. I must be missing something but whenever I post an image it is uploaded as an attachment thumbnail which opens up when clicked.

Just host the image elsewhere, like pBase or photobucket, and post an IMG link. I can't change the thumbnail/open behaviour of the forum software, pity but that's how it works.

Nice.. . i like how old ads go for the *detailed blurb* approach, in contrast to nowadays where there seems to be more emphasis on visuals.

I think some of these old ads, especially posters, can be quite collectable. Something like that could look nice if carefully removed (not torn!, lol) and framed on a wall. Especially if it's of a vintage Minolta camera that you own :)

Could we get a scan of the text side that is readable? Would love to see what it says.
