I think a crop to about 50 per cent of the pic would improve it - into the bottom rail of the fence, and repositioning the horse head less central, and less white sky, and losing the bit of snow on the lens or filter. Agreed, b/w is probably best for this subject.

I would've cropped it to a vertical one. IMHO.

Thanks guys. The snow your seeing, I think is blowing round near the horse rather than on the lens.. or maybe the lens fooged and I didn't notice but it was very cold and the snow was still blowing around.
how about this one instead? this is a few more variations from another frame. I just didn't like the one above after trying vertical crops on it.
