Re: Pied Kingfishers
BTW, welcome back Robbie, haven't seen you around for quite some time.
Re: Pied Kingfishers
Hi Robbie,
Great to see the return of your beautiful kingfishers again!
In the third photo, you actually captured the fish in the air while the kingfisher was turning it around to face his mouth. Nice capture!

These birds are so cool even if they don't know what colour to be. how many pictures do you take to get how many keepers ? if he hard to shoot?

I shot about 100 pics of this guy, about 90 keepers. I study their habits quite a bit so I can pretty much anticipate what they are going to. Haha.. define difficult or hard to shoot...Javelin wrote:These birds are so cool even if they don't know what colour to be. how many pictures do you take to get how many keepers ? if he hard to shoot?
Thanks Greg..

Awesome series Robbie. Thanks for sharing the pictures - I never even knew there was such a bird, but to have such detailed shots is amazing.
Nex 5, Nex 6 (IR), A7M2, A99 and a bunch of lenses.
Re: Pied Kingfishers
We have quite a few kingfishers here in South Africa.. Giant Kingfisher, Pied Kingfisher, Woodland Kingfisher, Pygmy Kingfisher, Malachite Kingfisher, Brown Hooded Kingfisher, Striped Kingfisher... maybe one or two more.. Thanks for looking at my pics and your positive comments..Birma wrote:Awesome series Robbie.
