Sury - Hi - First one hand held - the second one was on a tripod, but as I said the lens was fairly new to me so I was playing around with it at the the time. I've got up to doing manual focus on macro shots that close now - cos as you said a mm movement can make a big difference.
Love the sunflower shots and the lily.

Anna, these are some sweet ‘liquified’ shots! : ) Just as they appear in nature... lovely bright pink and yellow coombination also.
Sury, lovely rose with an exquisitely different off-orange colour. California Sun showing in the brightness of the day there! : ))
Dusty, there’s a lot of neat details in that Sunflower. Good shotss from the both of you! : ))
Greg, thank you for the kind complements! : )

Took a few this morning, with varying breeze.
Starting with this Oriental Lily.
Wonderfully neat shots with bright colours. The third shot with the wild bee and white flowers is amazing for its composition proportions in the frame and the light colours contrasting against the bee's body! : ))
Thanks for sharing!

Wow DA, love that Oriental Lily especially, and the other two aren't far behind. I never expect too see a Hornet on a flower for some reason, when I see them here they are usually lugging some spider or grub around, forgetting that that is food for their own Larvae, not for themselves, great shot.
Lovely work Birma as well, beautiful Roses, I don't think I remember seeing a Hollyhock before, very pretty.
The Primrose is pretty as well, (from Anne I think), I wouldn't mind seeing the flower in a normal type shot as well.

Re: Flowers 2010
Thanks Greg The Hollyhock is a classic English country garden plant, and they self seed, so once you have them they can really take over. They grow very tall and never seem to be able to stand up on their own in our garden which gets fiddley. They do have a lot of large attarctibe blooms though so they are forgiven!
I missed DA's flowers before (they are coming thick and fast at the moment which is great) and I love that shot with the hornet (wasp?).

Birma,
Those Hollyhocks are fantastic. I loved the peach color. So delicate.
Here is one with Tamron 60mm macro but from a not so typical angle.

Hi Birma,
Smooth shots there... There's a tender softness to the shots; must be due to the lens, I suppose.
The upward growth pattern of the Hollyhocks is tantalizing and the colour of the flowers an unsual one. I saw lots of reds and pinks before but never this colour.
Thanks for sharing.
Sury;
A semi-backlit shot really works for the flower in your frame. Lovely translucent petals that show off the yellowish-orange colours. : )

Thanks Sury and Yildiz . Hollyhocks do seem to come in an amazing array of colours.
Sury, as Yildiz says, the back light gives a nice effect to the petals on that flower.

Yildiz and Birma,
Thank you. Sun was directly on the flower so I though I will try to get the flower
"back" lit. From the same place a tad bit soft but anyway, here it is.

A very sad flower picture Shelika - just like the footbal fans that have to wait 3 weeks after the world cup until the new season of football starts (here in the UK anyway) .
