Swan in flight

Unread post by bossel »

Got lucky during this Sundays walk, a swan was flying by. Just lifted up the camera and fired some bursts with the 28-135. What a beautiful and calm sight (and such a huge animal) :D

Shows that swans don't look eligant and graceful merely while on water but in all fluent conditions...

Very nice photos Bossel, congratulations. A good sequential set.

Excellent Thomas. I like them. You got the bird very sharply. :D

I'm sorry, how much did you pay this swan again? I mean he's paused in mid-flight so you could focus!

Seriously though, nice shots, and is that full frame or cropped sensor 135? I'm guessing the latter.

Bossel- a wonderful series. I would count myself fortunate to get just one of your series... Oie1 and Oie5 are my favorites. 1 -for making flying look so easy and effortless.. 5- I love that little bit of sky between the body and the wing.. Well captured indeed. John
P.S. how may shots did you take in total?

Thanks all for your comments! :D

The pictures are slightly cropped. I used the central focus sensor so the swan is in the middle and I cropped to get him out of there!

Got two bursts of about 5-6 pics, then he was gone/too far. :(

All are good. Second last with curved wings, I like the best.

Great shots Thomas - what beautiful shapes the swan makes and you have captured these wonderfully. I agree with Ewan that it looks like the swan has stopped to let you take the shot :D .
