Nice image, ACIP. Where is that?

Henry, have you worked much on #2? I like that one a lot.

Thanks for the feedback. It is Moraine Lake in Alberta. It's a stunning colour and so clear.

Yes, I did some pp on that one. I want to go back and redo it though. Here is another photo:

Just been Photoshopping a few more. These two are full landscapes of the river Dart near the spot where the first two shots were taken. Hope you like them. More feedback please. :)

Hi Anna,: )

Two lovely shots indeed. The first is amazing with the water caught in motion in the foreground while the green reflections seem to be frozen in time in the distance. I would of like dto see more of the trees lining the water banks.

The abrupt and rogue abstract of the rock formations in the second is in good contrast with the mirror-like, smooth surface of the water.

Great waves Henry.

Anna, both great shots with lovely greens. I really like the first shot - the reflections in the water are amazing. I agree with Yildiz that I find myself wanting to see more of the trees in the background in the first.

Anna,
I liked the serenity of your image. It kind of makes me sit back and take in the surroundings.
Very calming. Your next two images are very beautiful though I feel the post processing is a bit
overdone on the first one. It could be my monitor too.

Henry,
The first one to me is missing the context to have the impact. The second image
is what makes my point. With everything around, the second one is very dramatic.

The cropped water spray was less dramatic than the first one.

I am very excited by the recent postings on the thread. They all took a quantum leap in providing
visual pleasure.

With best regards,
Sury

Can you be a little more specific which photos you are referring to? I have posted several in this thread. Thanks!

Hi All - thanks for the kind comments and encouragement - more trees next time then. Sury - it may look like a lot of post production on the first one - but honestly a tweak in levels was all it was. The colours are just as I saw them - I was so captivated by the scene I took a shed load of shots. But none with more trees :(

I like the water fall shot gio67 but it is a shame about the sky being blown out - perhaps merge two versions of the file, one PP'd to under expose, would give some sky detail? The colours in the shot are great.

Nice sea shot Geo67. I'd have liked to see a more definite foreground object, but the waves look great as do the wet rocks. The second one needs an ND Grad I feel for the sky and maybe a little more of the base of the water fall. These things I am learning from the guys above.

Henry - love the water fall shot above. What shutter speed did you use?

Love this thread - hope it keeps going. 8)

I used ISO 100 at f16 in order to get a shutter speed of 1/6 second at 18mm. I had no tripod with me so braced myself very well and then let SSS do it's magic. :) It worked well.

I think the 1/6th captures the water well as the eye almost sees it. :D
