Thanks to everyone for the kind comments, they are appreciated. There are some cracking shots in this thread so far.

I love the b&w osprey, the tones of the talons, beak and eye all work well to show a powerful predator.

It looks like a very good area for bird photography you have there, I look forward to more

Best wishes

That last Osprey shot would have to be the best action shot of an Osprey I've seen aa los banos.

That's a nice shot of a Black Sholdered Kite aa los banos. I think we have three hoverers hear, you probably have them there as well. The other two are the Nankeen Kestrel and the Letter Winged Kite.

You were lucky to get a photo of an airborne Nankeen Kestrel that good aa los banos, they are very small bops those ones. My sisters daughter has a verandah/porch looking out over about 100 acres of front yard and a Nankeen Kestrel often lands in the top of a small tree just outside the fence (the close one) around the house, I've looked at it a few times through their spotting scope and my binocs....I thought one of these days I'll get him...it's him or me...

Wow a spoonbill, I'm not sure if I've seen one locally, although they do frequent these parts according to the Pizzey&Knight, very good shot btw.

Aaaahhhh a thread after one of my favourite interests... studying birds, wildlife in general but birds especially. Currently trying to get some good shots of the local birds in my area as the spring migrants are now heading back to UK shores. Anyway for the time being below are 2 shots, one of a spring migrant and one I took at a falconry centre.
