I was out in the woods today and came across this family on a smallish pond. There were actually ten ducklings in total, but two were being adventurous over the other side of the pond.

A700 + Tamron 17-50/2.8. I don't usually try and capture birds with the 17-50 lens, but sometimes you have to go with what you've got :D .

That's a great shot Birma, there's always something about a mother duck and a bunch of ducklings around her that appeals to the soul.

Fabulous shots of the Bald Eagles. Is this in a wildlife reserve, or just down the street?

I guess duckling could be on these guy's menu? I struggle to think of predataors here that will not eat ducklings - no wonder they have such big broods.

red-capped parrot (endemic to wa).....i was hanging the laundry when i saw this bird on a tree above me, put down the clothes and ran for the cam for this shot :wink:

Love the Eagles DA, I'm trying to imagine having Eagles nesting down the road, the closest Eagles here are accross the other side of the bay and there is no road.

Great grab aa los banos, that one is only in the bottom LH corner of Oz for sure.
