Here is one that I've never really had cause to post anywhere before. Didn't quite get the background how I wanted it but this horse was not going to give me a second chance. A700 with Min 24-105.

Thanks for posting an amusing photo of horse and sign! Yes, you don't always get to choose things like background, but fortunately he was looking at you. Maybe hoping you would hop on for a trot around the pasture?

I am sure that all of us have photos that do not fit into any existing photo thread theme so feel free to post something you like here.

I thought I might have posted this one before somewhere, but my memory is not doing very well lately, so my apologies if you've seen it before.

The claws yep, I think all critters that spend their life climbing trees have to have the climbing tackle. I'm not really sure how dangerous they are with them, I think the tame ones that get handled a lot are ok, but I reckon you could still get scratched pretty easily.
btw. I like your horse and accompanying signage, it's a good blast. Henry's Heffalump is good too.

As I can post any photo I will divert away from animals and show you a completely unchanged Jpeg straight out of my A550 (apart from reduction) from a visit yesterday to Leith (port of Edinburgh). This is a mixed flat/commercial building on the Leith Water. F7.1 1/1000 ISO400 and kind weather. I love the reflections. I have been wondering about what is wrong with this image since certain individuals go on about the inferior Sony Jpegs. Please educate me so that I can take notice. I bought the A580 as well but really did not need to replace the A550. This is a great still camera. You can ramp up the ISO settings to get enough depth of field and still obtain a shutter speed that will give you the desired sharpness with or without SSS. After all SSS cannot stop moving objects appearing in the frame when you press the shutter.

The earliest graffiti that I have heard about was in Maeshowe Neolithic chambered cairn which has Viking graffiti in it of the "I woz here" type. Sadly I have no picture of this but if you google Maeshowe there is lot about it.

Ahhh- finally the perfect photo thread for me! One of my nicknames at work is 'Random Man' so I feel perfectly at home here! Here is one from Ye Olde Film days, taken with my Minolta 8000i and 28-85 macro.
I hadn't had the camera long, and it was my first AF camera.
I had spotted a water tower half covered in fog and I thought it was just so cool. As I was shooting I heard some kids from the high school cross country team run by. I turned around and I saw this. I hastily took the shot, and soon he was gone. Not great technique wise, but a cool moment anyway. John
