Re: Mountain Shots
Very nice view Charlie, I like all the ridges highlighted with snow, very picturesque...I'd also be interested to see the same pano view shot from about twice as far from the house or maybe more with a longer lens say a 50 or even 75mm. That would reduce the size of the house against the mountains and make the mountains much more dominant in the view. Those mountains are much too good to use as a backdrop for a house I reckon.

Re: Mountain Shots
I agree with Greg on the general aspects of the photo. : )
Charlie, those repetitive ranges capped with snow creating a shredded look as the lines smoothly meet with the flat ground level is amazing. Definitely a good panorama of the ranges.
Thanks for sharing,
Yildiz

Re: Mountain Shots
TY very much for comments.
I'm sure you guys are right to get away further--I only had a minute there.
However the houses are mostly original from the first white settlers in this area, and I thought gave a sort of forlorn ambience to the shot.

Re: Mountain Shots
Hi Charlie, : )
The first is awesome. The clouds that are missing in the frame cast lovely patches of shadow on these mountain summits. Great weather and colours.
The second is more like a tidal transition of colours from earthly brown to heavenly blues.
I think it's absolutely impossible to start a day in a bad mood with a scenery as any of these. Very reviving shots.

Re: Mountain Shots
Hi John,
A very well composed and nicely-timed capture. : ) Both the foreground and the mountains in the distance make for a very complete and admirable shot. Especially the subtleness of all colours is impressive...gives an almost-cheated monochrome effect. ( meant in a good way )

Re: Mountain Shots
Yes that desert shot of John's is interesting with nice wild flowers and it looks like giant ant hills in the distance, a different soil composition to the foreground all together.
That looks like the way to get around and see the views Charlie, great scenes.

Hi Charlie,
You really used the patchy light to good advantage in your two shots. Very effective. I love days like that.
