Unread postby Anne_LilyofTheValley » Fri Apr 08, 2011 10:03 am

Hi all,

There are some new shots from me. I was just having a walk with a friend of mine and taking some portraits.

Your comments are welcomed. Thank you.

Anne.

p.s. I used my Sony A55 with 55-200mm lens.

The first shot definitely can be used in Zovirax cream ad (cream for labial herpes)...

I think the first shot is better. Nice going with black & white pictures.

In my opinion, very nice work for both pictures - for different reasons.

For me, the thing that makes the first image stand out is the unexpected sight of the flower in the girl's mouth. Without it, the photo would have been a nice but unexceptional image in my eyes, but the flower really made me look twice.

In the second photo, I am drawn to the girl's eyes - for me they just dominate the image, which I like. The only negative comment I have is that I think the image would have been even better if the girl had been a little more to the right, so her face was not partially blocked by the tree limb. I found that this distracted me. (I liked how the tree limb was used for framing, and how it seemed to follow the line of her jaw, but I wished that the limb had been a little more to the left.)

With best wishes,
- Tom -

Lovely portraits. I like how the second isolates the eyes by the slightest obscuring of the mouth. The first, however, is more comfortably framed and delivered.

Anne, these are really great. The first one, with the flower in the mouth, framing, B/W, and hairstyle looks like it's straight out of the '60s. The second seem to me to give the impression that she's watching someone, or following them and not wanting to be seen. The intensite of her gaze just adds to that. Well done!

Thank you very much for your comments. They are very helpful.

This shots were done very suddenly... Sometimes I just want to catch a moment, maybe I should pay attention to details much more.

Both are great! That first one though is really special. Photo and model are excellent. She really does have amazing eyes.

Wow -- those are gorgeous. Having a subject that attractive doesn't hurt, but especially in the second, you've gone well beyond just another picture of a pretty girl.

Thank you Kevin,

I am really impulsive and enthusiastic. It's been 3 moths that I own a digital camera and taken pictures. I hope that my photographs are going for the better, though I would like to take photos more than two times a month. So that I will be able to learn more by experiencing.

Anne.
