Re: FAUNA
Dusty,
Thank you. I had two of the same and deleted one. As it happens, Murphy's law kicked in and I deleted the wrong one.
I fixed the error. It should now show the image.
With best regards,
Sury

Re: FAUNA
The only animals other than birds I found on La Palma. The lizards were plentiful, more than 30 in the garden around our little house alone.
Iberian Wall Lizard (Podarcis hispanica)
This one was one of the regulars in our garden. We nicknamed it Bubba for it was the dominant male in the group being the largest.
Unknown dragonfly
The identification of this dragonfly is still being debated.

Re: FAUNA
Welcome back from a fruitful vacation, Mark.
You come with a basket full of exciting photos! : )
Lovely macros/closeups. Both the lizard and the dragonfly shots are amazingly beautiful.
The dragonfly appears to be called the Red Dragonfly or the Red-veined Darter or Sympetrum fonscolombii.
It's a beautiful creature and you got a good angle with great detail... I also like that the lizard decided to give his sidelong glace with an attitude of a handsome creature. : ) Very photogenic and nice glimmering blue neck.
Thanks for sharing,
Yildiz

Re: FAUNA
I like the lizard shot too, (the dragonfly is great of course) it looks like Bubba was getting used to your presence.
